Maui Medicinal Herbs, Inc., was formed in 1984 when Mark O.Dunlap; President, made his move from the small coastal town of Cannon Beach, Oregon. While in Oregon, Mark owned and operated a wholesale/retail produce distribution company in the Cannon Beach area. Here, Mark learned to surf and became an avid surfer. Always looking for that next great ride, (and some warmer weather), his choice was easy...Maui bound.

After settling in Maui, he began using organic farming practices in the lush tropical valleys of up-country Maui and started Dunlap Farm, in August of 1985. In 1992 Dunlap Farm became one of the first Certified Organic farms in Hawaii, growing tropical organic fruits and herbs.

"BREAK NEW GROUND, NOT YOUR TOOL" In 1994 Mark designed & patented the "Shovel Saver" a "Reinforcing sleeve for long handled tools" U.S. Patent #5,540,472

In 1996 Mark partnered with Angie & Tom in "Indian Lake Goldenseal, Inc." a certified organic Goldenseal farm operation. Together they built a 15,000 sq.ft. shade structure and planted over 40,000 goldenseal plants.

In 1998 Maui Medicinal Herbs. Inc. was formed to market agricultural products for Hawaii growers. Maui Medicinal Herbs now partners with and markets agricultural products for over 20 different organic farms in Hawaii.The first packaged product under Maui Medicinal Herbs was "Hawaiian Kava®" "Brew or Chew®".

In 1999, Maui Medicinal Herbs developed a diversified use plan for 29 acres of state property, utilizing sustainable organic farming principles and practices.
